If your HP notebook is displaying at a reduced screen size or if you notice that the resolution needs adjustment, you can change the screen resolution through the Windows settings.

Here’s how to do it on different Windows versions:

For Windows 10 and Windows 11:

  1. Open Display Settings:

    • Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."

  2. Select the Monitor:

    • If you have more than one monitor, click the image of the monitor you are configuring.

  3. Resolution Settings:

    • Scroll down to the "Resolution" drop-down menu. Select the resolution that best fits your screen.
    • HP generally recommends using the monitor's native resolution, which is typically marked as "Recommended."

  4. Apply Changes:

    • After selecting the correct resolution, click "Apply."
    • You may need to confirm your selection by clicking "Keep changes."

  5. Adjust Scale and Layout (Optional):

    • In the same "Display settings" menu, you might also want to adjust the scale of your text and apps for better readability.
    • For Windows 11, use the “Scale” drop-down menu under "Scale & Layout," and for Windows 10, use the “Change the size of text, apps, and other items” option.

Screen Layout Adjustment:

If adjusting the resolution does not solve the issue, you may need to check other settings to ensure text and icons are displayed correctly:

  • Make sure your graphics drivers are up to date.
  • Check for display or adapter settings specific to your HP notebook that might be affecting the resolution.

If problems persist, ensure there are no hardware issues or contact HP Support for further assistance.
