I tried following provided option in other post but didn't resolve my issue in windows 10

Try the following steps to see if they resolve your issue.

1. Right click on sound icon in system tray select playback devices

2. Click speakers (not your headphones) if not your default device make it your default device

3. Click on the recording tab

4. Click on stereo mix right click properties

5. Go to the listen tab

6. Playback through this device make sure your headphones are not selected

7. Repeat process for your headphones making sure playback is not through speakers as well

Thank you for the response with more detail.  It's look similar to me which help me from other forum.  But whatever steps i mentioned it resolve my issue and now i don't see any issue between switching audio between inbuilt speaker or headset.

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand the speaker doesn't mute automatically though the headphones are connected,

I appreciate the fact that you've attempted a few steps and here's a few more that should resolve the issue:

Go to : "Control Panel"
Click: "Realtek HD Audio manager"
With the "Speakers Tab" highlighted
Click: "Connector settings" (this is the icon of a yellow folder, in the blue shaded part, on the top right-hand side of the screen)
Click: "Enable auto popup dialogue box"
Click: "OK"
Plug in headphones
When the pop-up appears, select "headphones" as the item plugged in (NOT line out)

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

Hi

Thank you for the response with all information.  Unfortunately i don't find Realtek HD Audio manager in control panel. I checked in Device manager and click on speaker icon but don't find Realtek High Definition Audio there too.  So if you have any thought or suggestion please let me know.  Sorry for the late response.

Thanks

I have followed following steps and it resolve my issue...

  1. Select IDT High Definition Audio CODEC on Device Manager.
  2. Select Driver tab.

  3. Click Update Driver... button.

  4. Select -> Browse my computer for driver software.

  5. Select -> Let me pickup a list of device drivers on my computer.

  6. Select High Definition Audio Device (Not IDT High Def... this is important.) and click Next. Appears Warning message, but reply Yes.

  7. Windows has successfully update your driver software.

  8. Restart your computer.
