Office jet Pro 6830
Mac OS X 10.11 El Capitan

I received a replacement 6830 due to the printhead error. I installed the ink and was following the directions to install the software. I got to the screen where it searced for my device to make the wireless connection and it never "found" my printer. I am not able to make the connection. The information to install on my own wasn't clear. I tried putting in some of the information from the wireless screen and it didn't fit the format that was requested.

Now I have a replacement paperweight because when I try to print, it isn't able to locate the printer through the wireless connection. When I go through my laptop to try to connect, I get this message: "Unable to connect with the selected device."

I connected the printer to my wireless router on through the wizard function, so that is set in the printer.

Hi,

Sorry to hear that you're  having issues with your replacement unit.

Try removing the printer (or any existing printers) and then re-adding your printer by opening the preferences tab and then selecting "printers & scanners".

From there, click the minus sign under the printer icon to remove the printer and then re-add it using the plus sign.

I've also included a link here to the user guide here which outlines the wireless connection steps from page 71 onwards.
