Envy Inspire 7255e is asking for original cartridges which are misplaced. What can I do? Does not seem to be a way to reset, can you send instructions on how to reset the printer? Thanks,

I understand your Envy Inspire 7255e printer is asking for original cartridges and you don't have them, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try before resorting to a reset:

 

  • Power Cycle: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then plug it back in and turn it on again. Sometimes, this simple step can resolve minor issues.
  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the cartridges you have installed are properly seated in their respective slots. Sometimes, loose connections can trigger error messages.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: If the cartridges are old or have been sitting unused for a while, the contacts may be dirty. Carefully remove the cartridges and clean the contacts with a soft, lint-free cloth.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer. Sometimes, updates include fixes for cartridge recognition issues. Update the firmware on an HP printer

 

If you are still facing the issue

  1. Turn on the printer and wait until it is idle and silent.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer while the printer is still turned on.
  3. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  4. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  5. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  6. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  7. Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

Hello, I am so sorry, the model that I have was in a different box- for the 7225e

I am actually trouble shooting a Office Jetpro 8025e. 

Same issue its saying 2 of the cartridges are not original M & K, and to replace them with the originals. 

I have tried cleaning them as you mentioned. Can you send me the link for the firmware? And how do it get the firmware in the printer as it is on WiFi? Thanks!
