HP Officejet 4635
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My printer was working great Thursday.  I ran out of black ink.  I replace with a brand new cartridge yesterday (61).  Now all I get is that there is a carriage jam.  There ISN'T.

I have done ALL HP suggestions.  The cartridge show 100% capacity so it's not the cartridge.  NO PAPER anywhere.  The cartridge moves freely from left to right.  I did all the power suggestion.  IT WON'T GO AWAY.  Help

Hey @enaitove,

Welcome to the HP Support Forums!

I see that your Officejet 4635 e-All-in-One Printer is showing a carriage jam error. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done, this document outlines how to troubleshoot carriage jams with your printer.

If after following the above you are still unable to clear the error, the printer needs to be replaced. You can contact HP Support by clicking on this link and filling out the form at the bottom to discuss options based on your warranty.

Please let me know the results after following the above. If you are able to resolve your issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.

Well the warranty expired a moth ago.  Convenient.  This will be the 3rd HP printer I have had to replace.  I love my HP laptop.  Guess I'll try Epson printers now.
