I have been having some problems with my printer just recently. When I turn it on, right at the end of the power up cycle, the printer starts a ticking sound and brings up a 0x61011be5 error message.

After doing some searching, I followed instructions on resetting factory defaults (the #6 method after disconnecting power), I have changed the ink cartridges .  The next step would be to change the printer head.  Before I do, I wanted to see if that step resolved anyone's problems.  The printer is just over 2 years old.  I am at the point of looking for a new NON-HP printer.

Any help gladly accepted

The 0x error that you are getting is cased by a failure in the firmware, usually because it can't get the printhead to pass tests. The document below was designed to help the problem, but it sounds like you may have already tried that. Since the printhead is most likely out of warranty, I would do a physical cleaning to see if that clears out the error. Bob_Headrick posted the steps, and I'll link that below as well. If that doesn't work, you will need to replace the printhead, which may not solve the problem (each printer is different so sometime this will work, but others it won't), or replace the printer itself.

Hi thanks for your response.  After I posted, I cleaned the print head but it wasn't successful.

I wish I knew if the print head replace would work.  I've spent so much time trying to resolve this issue that ,at this point I am just inclined to replace the printer.

Thanks again for your post
