HP Recommended

I purchased a used printer which already has ink in it. I have tried to register for instant ink but it is still registered to the previous owner. How can I register so I am able to use the printer and pay the monthly subscription. Printer is useless if I can’t use it. 
Also, i cant reach the previous owner anymore. There is no possible way for me to ask him to cancel his registration.
