Similar problem here Got onto HP returned the unit as in diagnostics audio failure was the result Unit reurned and tested on BBC radio after 20 minutes same problem first terrible sound and then no sound rubish B & O systeyem Visited their site and they dont even acknowledge that the have a sound software certainly no downloads or Dlls. Have to say their interface when it worked looked as though it was made by a novice. Absolute Con wish I had never bought it Toshiba going 6 years never a problem now this and now the Ethernet has failed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post serial numbers and case details.
