Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My Spectre worked yesterday, today it won't power on.

Removed the bottom cover.  Immediately spotted a sticker with a hole burned through it.  Underneath are two burned parts.

I have heard of not powering on being a common problem with the x360.  On this forum I have seen lots of very similar pictures, although those threads were for a slightly different model number.

I contacted support - they say parts & labor to replace the motherboard is $714.44.

Of course I have no assurance that even if I paid that, that these obviously under-spec'ed parts have been upgraded, and that it won't just do this again in a month.

It's currently Sunday, but when Parts opens tomorrow I'm planning to see what a motherboard costs.

Apparently some people have gotten this fixed for free as a defect?
