Hi,
I have a Hp pavilion 15-b061sf with a strange behavior
I check on a lots of forums and also HP forums but nobody had this case.
When I plug the AC adapter the led Go amber / red for 1 second then it starts to blink white.
When I try to power on the computer, it boot for 1s then shutdown immediatly, after that I can't power on, I need to remove the AC adapter for 10 seconds then plug it again but same thing occurs.
I tried a hard reset with no AC adapter, no battery and 30seconds on power but that didn't solved the problem.
What can be the problem ?
AC Adapter or motherboard ?
Thank you.

Hi
It seems like my idea was good
I disassembled it and tested everything but I was conviced that the adapter has a problem.
So we tested it with a voltmeter, with no charge we have 19V But if we try to put a lightbulb with 2 wires, it goes to 19V and immediatly drops to 0V (same thing when I put the Computer on)
So i'am sure a 99.9% that the adapter is faulty 🙂

Hi @Cedric1127,

I understand that when you try to power on your notebook when you
plug the AC adapter, the led turns amber / red for 1 second then it starts to blink white. When you try to power on the computer, it boots for 1second and then shuts down immediately. Then it will not power on.
Are you connecting directly to an outlet and not using a power / surge bar? Please verify that the power cord is not the one that is on the recall list. HP Notebook PC AC Power Cord Safety Recall and Replacement Program Announced August 26, 2014. First, please test the adapter. HP Notebook PCs - Testing and Using the AC Power Adapter. If the adapter is fine, then it could be the power button board on the notebook or the motherboard. Please contact HP Support for service options. Contact HP Support. Should you consider doing repairs yourself, here is the HP Pavilion 15 Sleekbook, HP Pavilion 15 Ultrabook, and HP Pavilion TouchSmart 15 Sleekbook Maintena.... Hi
Thanks for your answer.
To be honest I can't say if the A/C adapter is faulty because it's not my computer, it's from a work colleague , I work in IT in a hospital so I often do some personnal repairs 🙂
On the cord I have LS-18 not LS-15 but is it the real cord from this computer... I don't know if you can know if it's faulty ithe the serial numbers.
All that i can say is that the A/c adapter is not hot lake any A/C adapter .it's cold unlinke all adapters that we have .
All adapters work on that outlet
Thank you.

Hi @Cedric1127,
It is only the one cord that was on recall, all others are fine. Did you check the connection to the notebook and the power connection on the notebook for damage. As you are unable to test the adapter and you believe it to be OK, then that leaves the other two options that I mentioned.
Please keep me updated.

Hi @Cedric1127,
Please note step 5 in the "Testing and Using the AC Adapter" document. If when you connect the AC adapter, the light on the connection port remains lit, it should be working correctly.
