Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop will not boot.  Shutdown the laptop one night the next day returned to power on and it will not power up.

The fan does not sound as if it is spinning, but the wi-fi f12 light blinks once, but only once.

I have tried the hard reset (removing battery and power plug, press power button for 20 seconds, as replace battery and power cable) this had no effect.

I have tried to power the laptop without a battery and just the power cord with no change.

There  is another post with the same problem and 3 or 4 other have stated that they have the same issue but there is not solution posted.  To make sure that this question is followed up on, I figured that I would post as a new question and hopefully we will get an answer.

Thanks for any help.

Hi mike, have you had this resolved yet? Did you have to send off for repair? Any ideas on cost if so? Mine is doing exactly the same. Had laptop for about 3 years but probably used a handful of times to backup the iPhone. If it's a hardware failure it's a joke that it's stopped after a short usage time. Think I will stick to Dell next time as this seems a common issue with HP and no solutions

I had this problem, after ordering three motherboards without any luck, I finally replaced the PROCESSOR and that took care of all my issues.

I hope this helps.

Nice one. I've still not had it looked at yet so might give that a go. Just need to find out which processor will be compatible now.

How much did it cost you bro

Hi, I have a solution.

1. Remove the battery if the laptop
2. Open up the laptop and disconnect the RAM and the CMOS battery from the motherboard
3. Leave for 10-20 minutes and then do the previous steps in reverse
4. Power on your laptop and viola! The laptop will give you a message about the bios being reset to default.

Hint: If you get a message about "Install an operating system on your hard disk," just go into the bios and enable legacy support, it will boot as normal afterwards

It was a RAM issue on mine. Soon as I replaced the RAM in the only one slot, the PC booted up correctly.
