I grasp that tried to fix an update error and when you restarted you got the message "bootmgr is missing, press ctrl alt del to restart. Whenever you make changes it is always wise to create a restore point you can use should something go wrong. Here is a link I hope will help you to overcome this issue. HP and Compaq Desktop PCs - Error: BOOTMGR is missing Please keep me updated on the outcome.

Good bur I don't have the recovery dusc

Hi @apbandres,

 

Thank you for the update. If you don't have recovery disk, you should be able to boot to the Recovery Manager from outside of Windows.

Turn off your notebook. On startup immediately start pressing F11 approximately once every second. If you are unable to access the Recovery Manager. please contact HP Support to obtain a recovery kit. Contact HP Support Fill out the online form and follow the prompts.
