presario cq61
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi  everybody!

I've got a Presario CQ61 and it doesn't turn on anymore. The battery has been always low... so I used it always connected to the Power Supply... Anyway it doesn't turn on now... I've tried without battery, to swap the RAM memory, to use just a single bank of RAM and then the other one. I've tried to disconnect the wifi module... I've checked the HD and backuped it (it works)...  One thing is... when I connect the plug of the power supply.. the led turns on for just for 1 second and then it turns off... I'm sure the battery doesn't work...

I've read the forum and it seems a motherboard fault... but my question is... can it be possible it's a matter of battery...

I mean does the notebook needs a working and charged battery (or at least with a % of charge) also connecting it with the power supply  to turn on???  so Could it be a problem of the 0% charged battery?

Thanks in advance!

Regards

Alex

Hi Alex,

Unfortunately it's probably an issue with the system board - the notebook should work just fine when the AC Adapter is connected even with the battery completely removed.
