Hi.
The USB 3 driver should be installed durind installing Windows 7 by using "Press" add drive option .
The corect USB 3 should be used is : Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility
Tested by me on :
HP Pavilion 15-au100 Notebook
Core™ i5-7200U" 7th Gen
===========================================
Or creat a new Windows 7 USB after add USB 3 driver inside it ,
see here : http://codeabitwiser.com/2014/03/how-to-install-windows-7-with-only-usb-3-0-ports/
Hope to solve you problem.

Hi:
The only suggestion I can offer would be to try the USB3 driver directly from Intel.
Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file...

Tried to install this driver - but ended up with error message saying: That my computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software ??!!!
What minimum requirement are they talking about?!

If you read the release notes, it says the driver is good through platforms with the 6th generation processors.
I was hoping the hardware ID for the usb controller your notebook has might be the same, but I guess it isn't.
I read an article that there will be no driver support from Intel for W7 on platforms with the 7th generation processors, but I saw a W7 graphics driver that shows support for them.
So, I have no idea what's going on.
In any event, that is the newest USB3 driver and HP has released a notice that they will not be supporting any 7th gen core PC's for W7.
I think you better reinstall W10 if you want everything to work.
