Pavilion 15-AU063NR
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I looked at Intel RST and it said I have 2 SATA ports. I was wondering if the HP Pavilion 15-AU063NR notebook does actually have 2 ports before purchasing an extra HDD and/or opening it up.

You're welcome.

Yes understood. But still the manual remains the same. HP has revised the manual to incorporate 7th gen processors.

Hi,

Manual: Page 2, 32-34
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05228250

Specs: http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/HP-Pavilion-15-au000-Notebook-PC-series/10862158/model/11926452/...

Your notebook came with 1TB 2.5 inch SATA HDD.

There is another M.2 2280 SATA-3 SSD slot. You can use this. No additional 2.5 inch SATA bay present.

Thanks, but I have a PC with a 6TH gen Core i7, not 7TH gen.

Would anyone happen to know the drive size for the M.2 SSD?

HP Recommended

You mean capacity?

You can go in for any capacity. I would get at least 256gb M.2 SSD, and make it boot drive.

Hi,

I'm also planning to upgrade my laptop to SSD. But later that I found out that we can able to put 2 storage drive in laptop.

My Laptop details:

HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab264tx

I'm planning to make SSD as default boot device and HDD as storage. I think my laptop is equipped with a M.2 2280 SATA-3 SSD slot. So is there anyway to confirm other than opening the device ?

Appreciated !!!
