Trying to properly upgrade RAM to 2x16 gb but can't find spec. limitations/preferencies on CL. Current inbuild ram model is 

M471A5244CB0-CWE 2x4gb.

The product specs indicate that the notebook supports DDR4-3200 memory which would be CL22.

Not sure why you are only getting 2666 MHz out of your notebook's memory.
