HP Pavilion Gaming - 15-dk0740nd
Microsoft Windows 11

I reveived a battery warning on my HP pavilion (~4 years old).

The battery report says there's a slight decline in battery capacity history, but that's to be expected. Currently would be around 80% of the original capacity. But the summary states that the full charge capacity is much lower.

When using the HP support assistant I get the RE00W warning, saying it's at 1% capacity. Should I replace the battery? If so how do I find out which battery to get and how to replace it?

Battery report says:

Information about each currently installed battery

NAMEPABAS0241231
MANUFACTURERHewlett-Packard

HP support assistant:

  • Temperature: 22 °C
  • Current: 0 mA
  • Error ID: REOOW
  • Adaptive battery optimization: Enabled/activated

  • Power supply: Yes
  • CT number: [redacted]
  • Design capacity: 52 WHr
  • Maximum capacity: 1 WHr (2%)
  • Remaining capacity: 1 WHr

I redacted some numbers, please let me know if I need any of those to identify which battery to get.

You do need to replace the battery  with a new one or risk a few  unpleasant surprises.

Description and HP part number
(3-cell, 52-Wh, 4.55-Ah, Li-Ion, includes cable) L48495-005

Online vendors in the Netherlands

"If the battery is older than 1 year and was warranted for 1 year, the Warranty ID REOOW is displayed below the status explanation. Therefore the battery is out-of-warranty."

Thanks for replying. I could not find the part number, so I'm glad that's solved. I'll take a look around to see where to get it. Vendors seem to have mixed reviews. There is no official HP battery available right?

HP Recommended

"no official HP battery available" correct.

Just purchase ands install one that has the HP part number.

The part number/logo means the battery meets HP's specifications for the laptop.

I lived in the Netherlands for 16 years. I have purchased batteries from

https://www.123accu.nl/ and never had any problems.
