Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've just (this month!) bought this laptop for my young daughter, thinking that 32GB memory would be OK for a while. However, hadn't reckoned on the size of Windows 10, and even though she's used <15MB of memory with her work, 27GB of memory is already used with the OS etc and there's not enough space for Windows 10 to update.

I presume it's not possible to upgrade the hardware (from a response I saw elsewhere on the forum) so what's the best way to manage this? It doesn't seem like a great option to have to permanently have an external hard drive plugged in, but is there any other choice?

Or as we've only had it a few weeks can we return it and trade up to a model with more memory?

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Hi,

The following link shows its specs

   http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Z3D81EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB

Well, it has only 32 GB eMMC and non-upgradable but it has 1 multi-format SD media card reader therfore you can add at least 64GB more using this slot with a SD card (similar to adding microSD card to your phone or tablet). The down side is please tell you duaghter do not remove the card, this may cause some un-predtctable errors and/or damages specially when machine is up and running.

Updated: If you could return it then this is very good then you can spend more money to buy a PROPER laptop for your daughter.

Regards.
