Can I add a 256gb SSD drive to my [edited] that has a 2tb hard drive? I want to keep the hard drive for data & use the new SSD for programs and apps.

@Nickstermon

The Pavilion dv6 machines only have ONE slot for storage, you can't add. I believe your machine has Optical drive (ODD), you can

(a) Replace 2TB HDD with 2.5" SATA SSD, you can have 256GB or more,

(b) Replace ODD with old HDD using a caddy.

Regards.

So I can replace my ODD with a 256GB SSD drive? Then how do I put my programs & apps on the new SSD & have it recognize the old HDD as where my data files are?
