I wanna upgrade the cpu of my laptop, but i don't know if it's possible or where to look to find out if it is. It is hp pavilion 15-p263ca.

The AMD A10 processor is an APU which means it is a combination processor/graphics adapter.

 

I believe you are at the top of the mark regarding your model series' hardware configuration.

 

Unfortunately, I don't know how the processor works.

 

No doubt though, it is automatic and no user intervention is required or possible.

Hi:

 

You would have to replace the entire system board with one that has a better processor.

 

See chapter 6 of the service manual.

I thought the A10 processor series is the top of the line for AMD hardware.

This might be true, I'm not very tech savvy, would the graphics card be replaceable instead? If the cpu is good at what it does then I'd like to keep that. The GPU is the R7 M265DX

Also, the manual said it could go to 3.2 gHz, but my laptop says it boosts only until 2.4gHz, do you know how i could get up to that 3.2gHz?
