My youngest son's Compaq Mini 110 boots staright up into a Password protect mode which I do not know and then locks up with a fatal error and system halt CNU93533NQ. He has some really important coursework which he needs to present so any help would be really appreciated

Try the code below - Note that this will need to be entered using a QWERTY keyboard ( you can connect an external qwerty keyboard if necessary ).
