Pavillion 25cw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I just purchased a new HP laptop, Envy 360  I like to use two monitors.  I have a HP Pavillion 25cw and purchased a USB Type C to VGA adapter.  I connected this to the monitor and the computer.  The computer made a sound as though it recognized the connection but the monitor never responded.  How can I correct this problem?  It worked with my old laptop just fine.

I went back to BB and returned cable for HDMI cable and is now functioning properly.  I just need to address problem with the monitors showing the same information instead of acting as one, I need to separate displays.

Hi,

Firstly: what is your Envy 360 ?  Please use the following instructions to find out the model/product of your machine:

  http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00033108

Secondary: what do you mean 2 monitors ? machine only supports ONE external monitor (plus its screen = 2). If you need more than one external monitor, you need more hardware.

Thirdly: How did you connect monitor to your old computer ?

Regards.

Hi,

I can' t find M6ar00dx. But I can find HP ENVY x360 - m6-ar004dx

    http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c05187565

Is that your machine ? If yes, it has HDMI port:

     1 USB 3.0 (Type-C); 2 USB 3.0 (1 HP USB Boost); 1 HDMI; 1 headphone/microphone combo

Why you have to use different connection since your monitor only has HDMI ports ?

I'm using what the person at BEST BUY sold to me to use.  Should I be using something else for connection?
