My HP Pavilion 15 AU116TX came with 1 TB HDD and 4 GB RAM, I wanted to know if it has M2 SSD Slot where I can install SSD while keeping built-in HDD as it is. Product manual available here says that Pavilion laptops do have M2 SSD slot. Thanks for help!

Hi @ankurtr,

I read your awesome post. if you look up my link for the service manual that I sent, it states that these parts are compatible.

\

GNRC SSD 256GB 2280 M2 SATA-3 Value 865902-001

GNRC SSD 128GB 2280 M2 SATA-3 Value 847110-002

Solid-state drive cable 856353-001

It should be either a 256 GB M2 Sata-3 or SSD 128GB 2280 M2 SATA-3 and the solid state cable should be Solid-state drive cable 856353-001

Besides, the SSD from Amazon may be compatible. But I would still request you to contact a local technician and confirm that before ordering the part.

I hope this answers your question. Please let me know how this goes.Trust me I've done all I can to help here with a lot of research and efforts going into it.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.

Can you please suggest an m.2 SSD which suits my laptop best? And can you tell how much size of SSD would be supported?

Hi,

Can you please have a look at http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Does-AU113TX-contain-M2-SSD-slo...

I think AU113TX and AU116TX share the same motherboard configuration. HP support exectuive on the above question says M.2 SSD is not supported on the machine. I think there is some confusion here. Can you check please?

Regards,

Ankur
