Hello.

Does my notebook

HP 15s-fq2050TU

(Product code: 31X09PA)

contain and use a CMOS battery?

(Is that the same as a CR2032 battery?)

 

My notebook has recently had difficulty starting up without being plugged in to a wall outlet/power point.

Hi:

 

Your notebook does not have a CMOS/RTC battery.

 

The main battery also serves as the CMOS/RTC battery that maintains the BIOS and system clock settings.

 

Below is the link to your notebook's user guides page where you will find the maintenance and service guide.

Chapter 3 has no CMOS/RTC battery part number.

 

Chapter 5 has no CMOS/RTC battery removal or replacement procedure.
