HP Recommended

As stated in title. I've plugged in the battery as diagrammed on the body, plugged it in with the internal battery removed, pressed/held the one button on the thing several times both while it was attached and while removed, charged it separately from the laptop and then plugged it, and removed/reinstalled battery drivers. Nothing has worked, and I'm frankly at my wit's end. If anyone has any clue as to why it's failed to connect properly, even if it's just that the drivers aren't supported anymore, I'd appreciate any help.
