Recently the soundcard for laptop has been having issues. For a month or so i have been getting random pops in my audio using multiple 1/8" cables going to my speakers and headphones.  Now my issue is that the card isnt giving me quality audio and it seems i need a replacement. Its really quiet compared to normal and the audio cuts of low frequencies and just sounds terrible.  My laptop is a vital part to my work so i want to know the options i have to replacing. First i want to make sure the card is replaceable to the same quality if not better. Second is it possible for me to get the part sent to my house for me to replace myself or maybe taking in my laptop to building to only take a short ammount of time with it. I am currently running off of an audio interface i allready have owned for a long time, but it would be inconvient for me to use when im operating mobile. Please list out all of the options i have for new cards that will filt with my current laptop (HP ENVY dv6t-7300 CTO Quad Edition Notebook PC), and all the options i have for replacing the card(physically removing the old and replacing with the new.

I understand you've been troubled with the Audio drivers

  • I would recommend you to update the BIOS using either the HP Support assistant tool or the HP website.
  • Once you update the bios > uninstall the current Audio driver using the device manager > then use this LINK  (same as above) to download the updated audio driver and that should resolve this issue.
  • For more diagnosis > click here
  • I also suggest a hardware test on the Sound card to be on a safer side: Click here

Keep me posted!

Surprisingly, this worked reinstalling the default driver. Not sure why it would happen in the first place to get the weird deflated signal. I do use ASIO when recording audio on my laptop which might of messed with it.

@Xx_Lucas_xX,

I'm glad it worked out,

It's possible the driver was corrupted due to an interruption during the last update was being installed, I would suggest you to ensure the computer is shutdown using the windows shut down options instead of holding the power button in as a few people prefer!

That way the computer would wait until the update is complete and then shutdown properly!

Let me know if you need any other assistance,
