Extended warranty status already expired before starting

Hello,

I'm new to this forum, any assistance is welcome 🙂

Just bought a hp laptop recently and registered the warranty. I checked the warranty status via serial code, which turned out to be active as expected. My package also came with an extended warranty bundle, which starts in 2018 and ends 2019. However, the status for that warranty is expired.

Is this a normal issue or should I call HP careline? I somehow think the extended warranty will not activate when 2018 comes, and by then it'll probably be too late to seek help.
