Hi everyone. I want to change the hard drive of my HP Pavilion dv5 1170el. I would like to upgrade it to a better one. My old HD was a WD Scorpio Blue da 320GB a 5400RPM, SATA interface. I want to substitute it with a WD WD10JPVX Blu Hard Disk Mobile, 1 TB, 5400 RPM, SATA 6 GB/s.
Are the two hard drives compatible? I could have some problems in doing it?
Thanks in advance,
Carmine

The physical process is not hard, but where you are likely to run into trouble is getting software on the new drive. Is the old one running OK you just want to upgrade? Other than size (capacity) the new drive you propose is not better. It is no faster, for example. You want to consider a 7200 rpm spin speed drive like maybe this:
