I have a hp g62 windows 7 and i forgot my administrator password so everytime i turn my laptop on theres a blue sign saying enter administrator password or power on password and then i get a key with the number 71401920

Entering the code from my previous post will have removed the requirement for a power on password.

No it will not - the passwords are unique to the halt code your machine produces.

 

If you still have this issue, start a new thread on the Board below and include the 'Halt Code' you're receiving.
