So I'm looking to buy a new laptop and come up againstb the options in the title

vs

http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=Z5E32EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB

Thing is, the more expensive one seems to me to have a worse spec than the cheaper one and I can't work out why it's so much more.  Yes, it has 16GB memory and 2TB HDD, but the cheaper one has a Full HD screen and a 256GB SSD.  I'm leaning towards the latter but they're offering the more expensive one at a knock down price for Black Friday and I'm a bit torn.  I don't really need such a big HDD but is there anything in the rest of the specs that would justify the premium?

Any help greatly appreciated

Hi,

For 50 more pounds and you have SSD plus FHD screen that could be a cheapest option you can buy. SSD is much better than normal HDD (only smaller in capacity).

Hi,

There is a good practice for business, I don't know HP does this or not but the practice is: bumping up prices before 20% reduction, that would sell more products.

I would buy a better specs even w/o 20% reduction (full £549). Unless they sell half price, 20% reduction will be from £699 down to £559, still more expensive than the other.

Regards.

Thanks for the quick reply.  The more expensive one is reduced to £500, which would make it the cheaper of the two.  It's not really about the money at this point at I'd rather pay £50 to get a better spec, but I guess I just want confirmation that the one with the SSD is the better spec.  I want to make sure I'm not overlooking something!

That confirms what I suspected.
