Hey! I have ENVY 15-j040 and would like to upgrade it with SSD. Could you please answer whether I have a chance to add it (preferred way) or replace hdd? Which type of SSD is supported? Thanks in advance.

See p. 47 of the Manual here:
Your laptop has an mSATA slot for the older form factor mSSD but that device can only be used in conjunction with a mechanical hard drive as an Intel Rapid Storage acceleration cache. It is not bootable unless it is the only hard drive in the computer. Even then, the speed of the mSATA of this type is no faster than a SATA 2.5 inch SSD and the latter are cheaper and easier to find in useable sizes. So, your best option is to replace the 5400 rpm mechanical drive with a 2.5 inch SATA-III SSD and my suggestion is always the Samsung 850 Evo.
