Hello everybody!

I would like to upgrade to an SSD. i have looking for other topics on forum. I was confuse now. A topic say my laptop have a port for m.2 Sata ssd and another say not. Can someone give me the right information and some advices.

 

My laptop have touch screen, use 4th gen Intel Core i7-4510u, GTX 850M, my mother board is Hewlett-Packard 228D

Here is the Service Manual:

I am sorry to say this thing is clear as mud. Your model shares its Manual with the 17 inch Envy and if you look at hard drive options it says only the 17 inch can be configured with both a regular hard drive and a M.2 drive. However, if you get into the actual instructions it makes no distinction other than saying the M.2 is on select models. I am sure we have had owners of the 15 inch model post here and even attach pictures and although the instructions say you have to flip the system board over to access the M.2 slot it is actually right above the hard drive bay. What is clear is that trying to add an M.2 drive is not end-user authorized and is a bit of a technical challenge.

 

So I am afraid all I can say based on the Manual is that there is probably an M.2 slot in there but it is going to mean nearly complete disassembly to figure out for sure. Sorry.
