HP ENVY 17 j152-nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi.

I have HP ENVY 17 j152-nr. It has UEFI BIOS Insyde F.65, 20.11.2014. Also it has Wireless module rt3290 that works very bad last time. I want to replace it on newer module.

My question is: does this BIOS has whitelist of wireless cards or I can replace it without problems?

I can speak directly to this. I had the 17t-j029nr HP loaned me a few years back which is an even earlier model and I can speak from experience that it had no whitelist so 100% sure yours does not either. You can install any wireless card of the same form factor.

Mine had 2 antennae and I think yours does too but you will want to check that before trying to install a dual band dual channel card.
