HP Envy 15-ae103nc

Hello,

The lan cover on my HP is broken. The little midle part in the cover that is supposed to hold in the ethernet cable is gone. The ebay is full of replacement covers, but not this one particular model. Is there a way to obtain it/ any place I can order it from? I can replace it myself but I cannot find the piece in the HP spare parts store. Thank you.

Hi @Okamensky,

Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I understand that you have issues with a broken LAN socket cover. It will be a delight to assist you.

A commendable job was done doing your copious research for finding the correct  part before posting your question in the HP forums. It is always a great pleasure to work with tech-savvy and technically sound customers like you. Kudos to you for that. I am amazed at your technical skills on replacing it by yourself and definitely value your relationship with HP. We appreciate you greatly for doing business with HP and I take it as a privilege to share this platform with you.

At the outset, as the LAN cover is not sold as a separate part, you need to replace the entire bottom panel or base enclosure of the unit as it is integrated. You could visit this link to order the part: http://partsurfer.hp.com Then please select the country and type the product# of the unit and run a search to list the required parts. You could also call the part store and give them your unit’s product# and model name for them to help you order the correct part. The phone number is listed on the website.

I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the computer works great. Hope this helps. Please let me know how this works.

To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to appreciate my efforts. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution”.

Thanks and have a terrific week ahead.
