I purchased a HP envy touch smart i7 laptop in 2014 from Bangladesh. But after using it for 3 months the hinge broke off and one side cover is gap open where hinges broke. I was wondering how could it happen? As I didn't do any forcing on this.
So I took it to the computer source the distributor from whom I purchased it. They told me it is not under warranty cover as the parts is broken. So I am using it like that for 2 years as PC. So I don't have to close the lid. But Now I know there is a lot of people facing the same problem. Hinges broken problem.
So I would like to ask If this is a manufacturer defect? and What is the solution for broken hinges?

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Well, they took my information. But nobody contacted me. I messaged several times for a reply, But they didn't reply after taking my information. It's very unfortunate.
I will recommend everyone not to buy HP Envy Laptop because of the manufacturer defect of the hinges. I wanted to purchase new HP omen series but give up the idea for now.
