Hi,
I ordered PAVALION 15-AU116TX laptop and I have below questions for the Memory upgrade.
1) It has 7th Gen Core i5 and I went through the specs for that(http://ark.intel.com/products/95443/Intel-Core-i5-7200U-Processor-3M-Cache-up-to-3_10-GHz). It clearly says that processor can support upto 32GB of RAM.
- When I checked with HP Consumer support they informed me that maximum supported memory is 16GB only.
Can you please clarify on this?
2) If I install additional memory(considering it'll support 32GB, I'm planning to add 16GB of additional memory) will my warranty be void?
3) What is the motherboard configuration with above laptop?
Regards,
Ankur

Your laptop has only 2 memory slots and the memory bus is designed to support 16GB.
If you had a laptop with 4 slots "Like a Dell M6600" you could have up to 32GB.
Ark is giving the max the CPU is designed for not the different system boards.
If you have a desktop with that same CPU and 4 slots you could then add the 32GB max.

Your correct that 16GB is the maximum memory supported for your laptop.
As far as warranty goes some say it would void the warranty some say it would not.
I think of it as this if you add the memory yourself and nothing gets damaged then the warranty is still good.
But if you damage something doing it yourself then the Damage is not covered.
