Hello, when I purchased this laptop, it came with an mSATA SSD. This means that the HDD bay is unoccupied. Since the mSATA SSD is only 120GB, I purchased a 1TB 7200RPM HDD from newegg, as well as a HDD cable from the HP Parts Store. The only thing I can't seem to find is the mounting hardware. Any ideas? Is there a specific mounting bracket I need to purchase, or does it just sit in there? I spent a lot of money on this laptop so I really don't want to mess it up by improperly installing the HDD...

Here's the Manual:
See p. 32. You need those hard drive brackets. Problem is they are item 17 in the exploded parts list on page 18 but no part number so no way to order them.
These HP brackets from another model look very similar. Also plastic and look like the picture in your manual but hard to say:
You are correct in not wanting to just stick the drive in there unattached.
Post back with any more questions.
