My HDD has died (S.M.A.R.T has triped), I am looking for an SSD to replace it, in PC World, they all say SATA III, in the user manuel, the only thing it says is ATA 7, can I use SATA III in my Laptop ?

Yes your laptop is SATA-II but SATA-III drives and SSDs will downclock to run on a SATA-II or even a SATA-I bus.
