HP Pavilion g7-1310us Notebook PC

Running Windows 7 64-bit

I installed a new network card (intel network 6235an.hmwwb centrino WiFi card advanced - N 6235 Dual Band Bluetooth) and restarted the computer and got the message "wireless module not supported"

I checked and my BIOS was last updated on 1/24/13 insyde F.66

Could I get a list of Dual band N wifi cards that will work and include bluetooth?

Hi,

Intel 6230 is listed as compatible but the part number belongs to an Intel Centrino 1030. I would try the 6230 as the laptop is a Sandy Bridge one. Intel 6235 works on Ivy Bridge Dv6 series laptops.

Found this post after I purchased the 6235. Is there a bios update to fix this. I've looked on both the HP and Intel sites and nowhere is there anything about the Sandy Bridge inoperability.

HP Sandy Bridge laptops and lower use something called "whitelist". It's a coded list of compatible hardware in the BIOS that prevents the laptop from booting up with not supported hardware. There is no a bios update, etc but BIOSes on older laptops can be moddified to remove the whitelist completely or just add a wanted device to the list.

I checked with a few BIOS Mod websites and found that if you mess with the Whitelist you get another error, so there is no fix other than getting a different card or different computer.

Does anyone know of a Dual Band N card w/ bluetooth that is HP Compatable with the G7-1310us Bios F.66?

Is there a BIOS update for my notebook pc without the whitelist ?
