HP Recommended
Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All USB ports stopped working (as in no popup when plugged in and the devices do not get power from the port).

I did all the usual thingsm like uninstall drivers and re-detect.

Running USB port test in UEFI I get the following for all three ports

FAILURE ID 0URK1V-75E89A-MFPV6J-8D4E03

FAILURE IF G5FF00EA#ABU

Searching the web I can't find what these codes mean, does anyone have a pointers please?

Thanks in advance

Means a hardware failure in the usb controller chip on the motherboard, which essentially means it needs a new motherboard. Are you still under warranty?

Thanks, that is what I feared/suspected. Warranty ran out about a year and probably too late to buy the extension. 😉

I was going to give it to my mother to sort through their digital photos, which needs a working USB port, so will look into replacement motherboard or buy them a cheap laptop instead.
