HP Spectre x360
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Apart from its hard-to-read white alphanumberic keyboard and a serious booting problem that left me with without computer use for several weeks, my Spectre x360 has performed satisfactorily.

However, I'm wondering why my computer maintenance software program, upon scanning my system, always contends that "Your graphics card needs to be upgraded." I bought the notebook new. Wouldn't a decent graphics card have been included?

It is not for notebooks, per se. It is a set of suggestions for how to speed up your computer. This is one of the gripes about it. Not too smart. Does not know a desktop from a laptop.

What computer maintenance program? Your laptop has a video chip on the motherboard which is adequate for the tasks it is designed to perform. It is not a high-powered gaming machine but has the same video system as most consumer laptops...integrated motherboard video.

Auslogics BoostSpeed 9, which is presumably for standard consumer notebooks.

Thanks for your response.

Oh it includes a host of 12 tools--for defragmenting, scanning and correcting registry errors, removing duplicate files, etc. While assessing my system, it noted a mediocre graphics card. What the parameters were, I don't know.

Thanks. The program is set to detect an onboard (integrated) video card and suggest installing an add-in card. Good, easy advice on a desktop but not possible for most laptops. Glad to have been of help.
