One morning my laptop stopped working.
"Automatic Repair" Couldn't repair my computer.
so i performed HP PC Diagnostics -- UEFI
HP laptop Start-Up Test - Hard Disk Short DST Failed
Failure ID: u4q3f-1428pl-mfpv61-60ut03
everything else passed
I am prepared to buy a new desk top. And will be willing to take the broken computer to a professional to have as much the data and software saved as possible.
I belive the warranty has expired. I did not buy an extended protection plan.
bought September 2014, so laptop is almost 3 years old
Prior to test, Windows 10 "Automatic Repair" Couldn't repair my computer. It turned on but couldn't get it working. "Stuck in the Automatic Repair Loop" as they say

Short DST Failed= the hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced. A retail 2.5" laptop SATA hard drive can be used-Western Digital,Seagate,Toshiba,etc
