HP Pavilion Notebook 15 p108tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop currently has a 1366x768 panel in it, when looking through the Maintenance manual I found that part 762544-001 was listed (A full HD 1920x1080 panel) and having previously only owned Asus, I have been through the hell that is panels not being compatible because of differences in cable connections.

So I was wondering if it was interchangable on my p108tx, if I were to just replace the current HD panel with a full HD one, would i need any new connectors? Is it possible on the current motherboard even?

Thanks in advance.

HD and FHD displays specify a different cable. Theoretically you could replace both the panel and the cable but doing so requires a lot more disassembly. Start on p. 32 of the Manual. The motherboard is made to accept either type of cable so the upgrade is possible just of questionable economic sense if you have to pay for the labor.

Parts cost might be $120-150.

I'm guessing "Display panel full HD cable for non-Touchscreen models (includes webcamera/ microphone module cable and screws) for HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC computer models ---- 762544-001" would be the correct cable, i was more wondering if the board would accept it, and you provided the answer i was looking for as well as an explanation, thank you.
