My laptop is unusable.
Ran HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI
Hard Drive Quick Test Results:
HD Smart check: PASSED
HD Short DST check: FAILED
FAILURE ID: PU71WC-7378GB-MFPV6J-60SC03
PRODUCT ID: E9Z1BAV
Hard Drive 1
HELP, what does this FAILURE CODE mean, and what needs to be done to get the Laptop operational?

HELP, what does this FAILURE CODE mean, and what needs to be done to get the Laptop operational?
The hard drive is/has failed and needs to be replaced. You'll need to remove the defective drive and install a new one, then reload the operating system via HP Recovery Media. If your notebook is under the HP Warranty or a 3rd Party warranty, you can contact them directly for a replacement drive and media or repair option.

I was afraid that was what the code meant ... thanks so much for the confirmation. By the way, I made a image of the hard drive before the failure. Can you by chance recommend a website with instructions to replace the laptop drive and install an image?
