Ran a hardware diagnostics test and the Long DST failed with the code 9G8970-74J9BB-MFPV6J-61AU03. What does this mean? The Smart check passed.

Hard Disk 1 Full Test Failure is the translation of the error code. Can you just go into Windows Explorer, right click on the icon for the C:\ drive and select properties and see how much is used and how much is unused? It appears you may need to clean off some space on the drive. Or it failed the "full test" in some way and is not just overfilled. If there is at least 5% free space on the drive then I am afraid it is a fatal error and you need to replace your hard drive.

Thanks for the reply, the laptop doesn't make it to windows on startup, it just sits on a black screen forever. That is why I ran the test. It was recently reformatted with a fresh Windows 10 install. Should not of been anywhere near full... so I am guessing it is the fatal error. Will replace the hard drive and see how it goes.
