I'm not surprised by that.

 

The memory you installed definitely wouldn't work in that notebook.

 

You have to install a very specific type of memory in any HP notebook with a Mobile Intel Series 5 chipset.

 

Read this discussion...If you live in the USA, I have provided the link to the memory that will work in your notebook.
