- is SATA compatible for it?
- what is the dimension of the HDD that needs to be? - height, length and width.
- would seagate HDD would be compatible.

Hi,
Is it an HP Pavilion 15-p100dx notebook ?
http://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c04463224
If yes then
1. It use standard 2.5" HDD,
2. It is a SATA HDD,
3. SATA III (or 3) and SATA II (or 2) is compatible,
4. All standard HDD'd for laptops use same width and length, their thickness (hright) can be varry a bit but your laptop supports 7mm or 9.5mm. Better use 9.5mm because you don't need a frame filler to rise its height.
5. Yes, HP does not produce HDD's for laptops, it uses Seagate, Toshiba and few other brands.
6. You can buy from any good computer shop or BestBuy, Amazon, Newegg ....
Regards.
