Hello Team,

 

Recently my notebook hard drive got busted and I now need to replace my Pavilion P100DX hard drive.

 

To proceed with this, I wanna know the HDD configuration like

  1. whether it is 2.5 or 3.5
  2. is it SATA or non-SATA?
  3. is SATA compatible for it?
  4. what is the dimension of the HDD that needs to be? - height, length and width.
  5. would seagate HDD would be compatible.
  6. any pointers for the HDD to be bought.

Is it an HP Pavilion 15-p100dx notebook ?

If yes then

 

1. It use standard 2.5" HDD,

2. It is a SATA HDD,

3. SATA III (or 3) and SATA II (or 2) is compatible,

4. All standard HDD'd for laptops use same width and length, their thickness (hright) can be varry a bit but your laptop supports 7mm or 9.5mm. Better use 9.5mm because you don't need a frame filler to rise its height.

5. Yes, HP does not produce HDD's for laptops, it uses Seagate, Toshiba and few other brands.

6. You can buy from any good computer shop or BestBuy, Amazon, Newegg ....
