Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I've recently bought a HP Pavilon Notebook with CPU Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-6300HQ CPU @ 2.30GHz.

It seems the fan is working continously even with no loading (not even a IE page) making annoying noise which is unusual for a Notebook.

I've disabled the option "FAN always on" from BIOS but the fan never stopped.

The other laptops I have (HP Probook 350 and 450) are really quiet comparing with this one, their fans are only starting from time to time for similar loading.

BIOS version F.25 and also driveres are up to date (i'm using HP Support Assistant).

Is there any fix for this issue?

Thank you,

Silviu

I understand you are having issues with the fan making noise on your HP notebook.

Don't worry, though, as I have a few recommendations:

To provide you with an accurate solution, I'll need a few more details.

Have you made any software or hardware changes on the PC?

Was any update/reset interrupted, recently?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard Reset

* Updating your Notebook computer BIOS

* Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean

* Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat

* Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes

* Selecting power saves settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use

For more details: Click here

Hi

Thank you for assisting me.

Please see may answers below:

- It came with no preinstalled OS so I've installed a fresh Win10 Pro. The fan noise issue started from the begining but at that moment i thought this is because Windows is downloading updates.

I've also installed HP Support Assistant application and performed all drivers updates recommended by this tool, including a BIOS update to F.25 version few days ago. Also there were no interruptions during updates.

- The air vents are not obstructed, the laptop is placed on a clean desk.

- There are no idle applications running which can generate extra loading.

- On task manager I see no corrupted process, even when CPU load is 0 the fan is continuing to spin.

- I've switched power plan from Balanced to Power saver but the fan didn't stop and over more now i hear a strange sound from time to time, something like a click or similar with the sound I heard when performed a hard reset ( let's says every 30 seconds).

- I've also performed a Hard Reset but still no improuvement.

Please let me know if you have more suggestions.

thank you,

Silviu
