Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I purchased a new laptop that was downgraded to Windows 7 from Windows 10. I want to put it back to Windows 10. The instructions that came with the laptop say I need to change to UEFI. I recall the last time I encountered this, support had me download from Microsoftr and skip UEFI. What is the accepted protocol these days?

There is no specific protocol.

As long as you have a genuine copy of windows there should be no issues.

UEFI is enabled to keep the originally installed OS intact and not allow another OS to be installed as UEFI envoronment will enable secure boot.

I seem to recall downloading Windows 10 from a MS site when I worked with HP support the last time. Can I just reboot off the disks that came with the laptop?

I am loading from the Windows 10 disks that came with the system. Seems to be working after deleting the  exisitng partitions.
