Pavillion DV6 1330 ec
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello.

I would like to upgrade CPU in my Pavillion DV6 1330 ec. Is it possible to change my Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 with Intel Core 2 Duo T9900, Intel Core 2 Extreme X9100 or maybe Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9300 (quad core) ? Do I have to change cooling system or stock one is sufficient?

My current configuration:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo P8700 2,53GHz

RAM: 2x2GB DDR3

GPU: ATI Radeon HD 4650 1GB

HDD: Samsung EVO 850 SSD

Windows 10 64bit

Thanks in advance for answers.

Here is the Service manual:

Manual

Intel® Core™2 Duo T9900 3.06-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz front side bus (FSB)

Intel® Core™2 Duo T9800 2.93-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz front side bus (FSB)

Intel Core2 Duo T9600 2.80-GHz with 6-MB L2 cache and 1066-MHz FSB

Those are your upgrade options and any of the above would be a major improvement. The T9800 and T9900 in particular are extremely strong. Equal to most 2d gen Core i5 processors in my opinion. The market knows that, however, and those processors tend to be hard to find and pricey. The T9600 is only a little less powerful and much more widely available and cheaper. The "X" model processors are a no-go.

Thank you for your answer. I will try some of suggested CPUs.
